fred’s market garden 18.09.24

Good afternoon,

We're now half way through September and despite many promises Fred has made about writing his newsletter he's been very easily distracted by the garden! He promises to get on with writing to you soon!  With all his hard work in the garden over the summer L'escargot bleu has been able to reduce their vegetable purchases by a massive 80% which is amazing! Such a success for both the garden and the restaurant!

Fred has a very exciting weekend ahead of him - a full day workshop on Saturday (21st) with the passionate no-dig man himself, Charles Dowding.  It's going to be a fabulous day of learning, being outside and an opportunity to spend time with both Fred and Charles.

We wanted to let you know that we have a few tickets remaining so if you want to enjoy a day of learning in Fred's garden then make sure you snap up one of the last remaining slots.  Just click on the button below to be taken through to the details.

BOOK YOUR WORKSHOP SPACE

If you'd like to see some more of Fred and you can't make it along to the garden for the workshop this weekend then have a watch of this this movie 'Restoring Scotland's Coastal Waters' - it came out a few weeks ago - it's a really interesting watch and you'll find Fred in the garden from 10.50 onwards.

Fred is really looking forward to the workshop on Saturday - hopefully some of you can make it along for a full day of learning in his garden. You'll be going through all the major principles of no dig, propagation, multi-sowing, watering, pests and protection and you'll also get to find out all about Fred's compost set up - what more could you want on a Saturday!!! Lunch is included as well as tea and coffee.

Fred promises to be back soon with more garden and L'escargot bleu updates and general news! As ever if you have any questions or comments just get in touch!

C’est tout! À bientôt,
Fred

In the top 5 best meals of my life. Everything was phenomenal. The Pinot noir pairing recommended for the tartare for me was the best food & wine pairing I’ve ever had. Google

J’adore L’Escargot! On special occasions, when we want to guarantee gastronomic delight, we book in here. Fine, carefully sourced, some home grown, ingredients - cooked to perfection. Homely, though nothing like anything I could create at home! We always leave feeling special and happy. Google
